CASE STUDY 3: SAP Application and System Load Testing

Case Study: Repeatable SAP Application and System Load Testing
1- To insure that fixes and changes are tested with current Production data
2- To fix problems found in Production… quickly
3- To reduce the need to add hardware or create disk space to accommodate client-copies
4- To insure software quality during upgrades with short and frequent testing
5- To build Dev environments with Production data over and over again
6- To save time and valuable resources
Initial Situation:
No consistent test suite exists that will simultaneously check for correctness of applications and evaluate system performance. Often tests are done sequentially and manually.
Challenges and Goals:
1- Repeatable test suite.
3- Automate testing tasks.
4- Provide a user friendly interface to allow IT specialists to manage testing activities.
5- Provide reliable monitoring of system performance.
Approach:
Use the Macro System and Data Beamer applications as shown in the diagram:
1- Improve data quality while saving time and resources by avoiding or eliminating
manual and redundant data entry.
2- Eliminate impact on scarce technical resources by reducing or eliminating
2- Eliminate impact on scarce technical resources by reducing or eliminating
custom programming.
3- Empower information workers to become data stewards to create a people ready enterprise.
